Prices

A general admission ticket gets you access to all the Te Awanga Wine Festival festivities on the day, plus giveaways, and access to the variation of transport options that can be used to travel between each festival site. You will also get a festival map and festival glass when you complete registration at your first winery.

Please Note: there are additional online transaction fees which are non-refundable.

Admission does not include wine or food.

Don’t bring any alcohol with you. Bags will be checked at the entrance to each winery.

This event will go ahead rain or shine, it will not be cancelled for weather.

Tickets are limited to 1500 participants so be quick to book.

Online sales of tickets will finish at 5pm on the day of the festival. Please bring proof of purchase with the QR code to scan for entry onto one of the city transfer bus if you have purchased this option. You may sell your ticket. One ticket, one entry so please be wary of second hand tickets.

Getting to and from the festival

As responsible hosts, we recommend you use the festivals buses to get to and from the festival. Parking will be limited on Clifton Rd. Please park safely. There will be no parking available at any winery. Bikes welcome. Please ensure their safety with a lock.

Catching one of the buses from the city.

Festival buses will be at specific locations in Napier, Taradale, Hastings and Havelock North.  The first bus leaves at 10:20am and will depart when the bus is full, subsequent buses will also leave when full, with the last bus leaving at 10:30am – full or not. Don’t be late! Please carry a print out of your ticket from Eventbrite.

  • Napier – buses depart from The National Aquarium, Napier.

  • Taradale – bus will depart from the Lee Road Bus stop opposite McDonald’s car park.

  • Hastings – buses will depart from the cenotaph, Russel St South.

  • Havelock North – buses depart from the Havelock North i-Site, Te Aute Road.

Please be at the pick up point at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure. Buses will depart Hastings, Havelock North, Taradale and Napier pick up locations. Please ensure you are on the correct bus and time for your ticket. Tickets must be printed and shown to bus drivers upon boarding. Buses will depart promptly – please don’t be late!

Please note each bus will go to a different festival site which is randomly selected on the day for registration. Once at the festival we will have other transport options around the winery.

Return buses will start leaving at around 5:00pm and will visit all wineries until full. Please do not wait until the last bus as we have limited buses on the day.

Under the Sale & Supply of Alcohol Act 2012:

The wineries promote the responsible consumption of alcohol. Food, water, and non-alcoholic drinks will be available at all participating wineries.

  • Intoxicated persons will be refused entry at all festival sites.

  • Intoxicated persons will not be served alcohol.

  •  Spot checks of bags may be undertaken at the entry and exit points to all festival sites.

  •  Any unauthorized alcohol will be confiscated.

  • Alcohol cannot be taken into or out of any festival site.

  • Alcohol is not permitted on buses.

Bottle sales will not be permitted on the day. Glass sales only.

 

Event Restrictions

This is an R18 event. No persons under 18 will be admitted. Please have photo id available for entry and whenever you are purchasing drinks.

We understand that an event of this size can only operate under specific health guidelines. If for any reason we cannot go ahead due to Ministry of Health or Government restrictions, we will refund all tickets.
